Bougenville Hill Garden

Singkawang is a city located in the province of West Kalimantan (or Kalimantan Barat), on the island of Borneo in Indonesia. It is located at about 145 km north of Pontianak, the provincial capital, and is surrounded by the Pasi, Poteng, and Sakok mountains, cause that this city famous with nice of the nature, and so many tourism in this city, beside nice of the nature, many tourism in singkawang have a good management, and than it all make interest everyone to visit in tourism of singkawang, so singkawang be number one destination of tourism in west borneo. One of the tourism is Bougenville hill garden.

The city of Singkawang in West Kalimantan has a famous garden called the Bougenville Hill Garden.

Called Bougenville hill garden because the garden  many bougenville flowers grow at there. The garden had 1.5 hectar area.

The garden is located in Sijangkung village, 6 km or 15 minutes from Singkawang. It’s on the foot of a hill with Mount Pasi in the background and surrounded by forests and plantations.

 The garden is dominated by  Bougenville flower (Bougenvillea Spectabilis). The Bougenville flower is one of the most popular ornamental plants in the world. Here you can find 46 kinds of Bougenville coming from Indonesia and other countries. The garden has a pedestrian tracks and sceneric pools with bridges. You will also be able to see many other kinds of plants like orchid, anthurium, sri rejeki (aglonema), etc.

The fruit garden in Bougenville Hill Garden is another popular place. Most fruits available here are the ones you will find on the roadside shops in Singkawang as well: durian, rambutan, starfruit and avocado. You can buy flower seeds inside the green house near the exit.

Other part you can see pond . up the pond has a bridge with writed “ Bukit Bougenville “, and down the lake has a dragon statue with his head to hold up the bridge.

 Homogen Forest is the most popular place in the garden. The area is also called “Area Super Sejuk” (super mild area) as the many aloes trees will provide shade and fresh air. A popular place for photoshoots, even pre-wedding photos.

Beside that, in the area has a nice lake with green colour, it’s make people at there so comfort and happy for enjoy the lake available boats with 5.000 every one.
